Journal entry for November 21, 2025

May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob defend you;

Some trust in chariots, and some horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They have bowed down and fallen; but we have risen and stand upright. Psalm 20

Lord, I'm reminded again of what's in a name. The One who has been elevated to the highest place of honor and given the name above all other names is Jesus. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

For there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby they must be saved...

So as I reflect this morning again on what's in a name, I am reminded that everything is in a name. Just to whisper the name Jesus drives away fears, subdues enemies, and calms seas. The Angel Gabriel told Mary that she shall bring forth a child and give Him the name Jesus for He will save His people from their sins. Precious Savior, is Jesus my Lord.

I think of the demons crying out saying what have we to do with you Jesus? Have you come to torment us before our time? Oh give me Jesus, if I have nothing else but Jesus, I have everything.

Lord as I think of our deaf children in Haiti, I want more than anything for them to have Jesus. For them to come to know You personally. There is such power in even signing Your name, Jesus. The a whole gospel story can be told by signing Your name, Jesus.

I'm so glad I learned to trust You, precious Jesus, Savior, Friend; and I know that You are with me, will be with me to the end. Jesus, Jesus, how I trust You! How I've proved You o'er and o'er! Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus! O for grace to trust You more. AMEN
