The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies. Psalm 18:1-3
Heavenly father like David there are times when I have felt that the cords of death encompassed me; the torrents of destruction assailed me; the cords of Sheol entangled me; the snares of death confronted me. And like David in my distress I called upon you Lord, to you my God I cried for help. From your temple you heard my voice, my cry reached your ears.
For it is You Lord who light my lamp, you Lord lighten my darkness. Your way is perfect Your word always proves true; You are a shield for all who take refuge in You. For who is God, but the Lord? Who is a rock, except my God?
You gave a wide place for my steps under me, and my feet did not slip. The Lord lives, and blessed be my Rock, and exalted be the God of my salvation.
Heavenly Father I could not say it any better than David has already said it. It is like he has taken the words out of my mouth and put them in this beautiful Psalm. Not a day goes by that I don't recall Your goodness, Your deliverance from the enemy who seeks to take me down.
Thank you for lighting my path. Thank you for keeping me from the enemies traps and schemes. Lord I received good news for a couple of loved ones who were facing some uncertainties with their health. Thank you for delivering them as well.
I know David's thoughts and my Journal entry could have been written by many others who have been blessed by Your wondrous care and protection. Lifted up when they were brought low. Given light when the path seemed so dark. Thank you that you are our Rock. Thank you for the care that You tenderly provide for Your children. We are securely in the palm of Your hand and I love that beautiful image. Thank you in Jesus name, Amen
