You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. Deuteronomy 6:5

Heavenly Father, what does it look like to love You with all of my heart, with all my soul, and with all my might? I know how to love that which I can see, that which I can focus my attention on, but You fill all space. When I love a beautiful sunset, am I loving you? As I turn around and look out my office window and see doves and squirrels and other birds eating the food that I have scattered about for them, am I loving you?

Some might even say that You are a concept or an idea, even a figment of one's imagination. Yet I know you to be real, and alive and omnipresent. I feel Your presence. When I see a beautiful sunset or birds and squirrels which you have created I love your amazing handiwork, but that is not to say that I love you.

In these last days you have spoken to us through Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. He came in the flesh and showed us what Your love really looks like. To show us how to love You with all of our heart, soul, and might. Jesus said whatever you do to the least of these, you have done to Me. If you cannot love those whom you can see, you certainly cannot love Him who you cannot see.

So Father, today may my love for You compel me to love the "least of these" in the world around me. To be Your hands and Your feet. I was almost getting ready to pray help me be sensitive to the prompting of Your Spirit to love others, but Lord I sense that I am to love without selection or whomever you bring into my path without being prompted to love certain individuals. May I not look at those around me and judge who it is who may be worthy of your love through me. Perhaps the real question for me is, am I capable of loving You with all of my heart, my soul and my might. Help me Lord in my selfish ways to hold nothing back but to give all for you. I Pray in Jesus name.
