For God saved us and called us to…. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was His plan from before the beginning of time - to show us His grace through Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 1:9

A little quiz for you today. Without looking this verse up do you know what God saved you and called (is calling) you to do?

What a thought, God actually saved us and called us for a specific purpose. We might think it is to glorify Him, and that wouldn't be wrong, for ultimately everything we do is for that purpose. We might think it is to spread the "Good News", the gospel, and that also would be true. But this is much more basic and our effectiveness in every other area depends on this.

So what are you and I called to do today? From the time we swing our feet out of bed to the time we put them back in bed tonight what is our calling?

Micah 6:8 gives us a good picture of it. "To do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God."

Do you have the answer yet? Here it is. This is what we are saved for and our calling for today and everyday; " "To live a holy life."

Holy means "set apart". Apart from what? What are we called to live apart from? I am going to let you fill that in. Each one of us needs to ask the lord, what would you have me live apart from today?

Heavenly Father I pray that You would help each one of us live "set apart" from that which dulls our shine for You. As diamonds we are to gather in and reflect out Your glory, to shine for You. There is a great onslought against us to try and dull our shine, to block our reflection of You in our lives. It may be a little different for each of us but please show us today that we may truly live "set apart" lives for You today. I pray in Jesus name. AMEN
