Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God's work from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11

Every season of life—whether joyful or painful—unfolds under God's sovereign control and purpose, rather than according to human schedules or strength. God has placed an innate awareness, longing, and capacity for the eternal inside every person. This explains why temporary earthly things, wealth, or status cannot fully satisfy the human soul—we are built for a relationship with an eternal Creator. Despite having a sense of eternity, people cannot fully comprehend or trace the entirety of God's master plan from start to finish.

In a world of airbrushed models and AI, we have a very skewed view of beauty. Some of the most beautiful people are those whose have been cast aside for not measuring up. Many years ago my wife babysat a young Down syndrome girl. Her mother would drop her off early in the morning and she would eat breakfast with me. The sparkle in this girl's eyes and the beautiful spirit she radiated were a highlight of my day. Indeed she deeply touched our family. And we could see clearly God had made her beautiful for the season that she blossomed. Her life was very short in the scope of things, yet her beauty still brings a smile to my face every time I think of her.

I would encourage you today to look not on the exterior of people, but look at their inward beauty. Sometimes hardships cloud the beauty, but love can draw it out. Take the time to go beyond a trite greeting, and engage someone today. See if you can find the inner beauty that may be disguised or intentionally hidden for fear of being discovered.

Heavenly Father thank you that You have made all things beautiful in their time. Help us today to see beyond the peripheral and into the heart of those we brush up against. Help us to engage with purpose. To see what others may not, or what we would normally miss ourselves. Help us to seek You, knowing that You have put eternity in our hearts. I pray in Jesus name. AMEN AMEN
