Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. Romans 12:12

Jen Weaver asks the question in her devotional; “Why does prayer feel so hard?"

Do we see prayer for what it is, an invitation rather than pressure? It seems we know how to visit God i.e. we pray at meal times, bedtime or at church. But prayer should be where we live, how we walk with Him.

We need to understand that before we ever reach for God, He is already moving towards us. Before we seek His presence, He is already present. Prayer isn't about getting His attention, it is about continuing to turn towards Him because He has already turned towards us. The prayer life we should desire doesn't come by trying harder, it begins by recognizing that God is already present, speaking and moving towards us. So prayer is continuing a conversation that God has already started with us.

Prayer needs to become as effortless as breathing and just as natural. After all the One who gave us breath is the One who desires we use it to talk with Him.

Thank You Heavenly Father for the invittion of prayer. Communication is key in every relationship. Thank you for the privilege of being able to commune with You. We have been given that right through Jesus Christ our Lord, and He tells us that when we talk to you in His name You will grant us the desires of our hearts. Help our desires to align with Your will, Father, I pray in Jesus’ name. AMEN AMEN.
