Do you think I am like the people of the world who say "yes" when they really mean "no"? As surely as God is faithful, our word to you does not waiver between "yes" and "no". For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waiver between "yes" and "no". 2 Corinthians 1:17-18
My Dad always told me, "A man is only as good as his word." Paul felt the same way. Today people all too often say "I was only joking, did you think I was serious?" I am so thankful that we will never hear the Lord say that. What a bad joke it would be to find out all we are believing is just a joke.
God is the standard for truth and in a world that wants to redefine everything, I am thankful that God never changes and His word is always true.
We stand on the promises of God because God is true and can be trusted. I can't imagine going through life just hoping, thinking or guessing as to the surety of God's word. The Lord himself watches over you! Maybe? The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade, possibly... I will never leave you nor forsake you… Just kidding! He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; gotcha..
I AM, and I will, are not maybes. When God says it, we can believe it. In a shifting world we need an anchor that holds firm and true. We need to be as true as our God and follow through with our word. Let our yes be yes and our no be no. Too many children today get mixed signals from their parents. Children need firm boundaries that do not move, as do we. I am thankful that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and He never moves the boundaries on us.
Heavenly Father thank you for being truth. For being our anchor, our shade and shelter. Thank you that You never change and Your promises are as true today as they were when first spoken. What a comfort You are. Thank You in Jesus name. AMEN AMEN.
