For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love. Galatians 5:6

This is one of those verses that when I read it I thought this just brings it all together and states what the key to our faith really is. Faith expressing itself in love. True Christian faith is always proven and put to work through active love for others. It goes far beyond religious traditions or rules which do not earn favor with God or define our spiritual worth. Our faith must be in Christ alone and it will express itself in love for others.

Paul goes on to write to the Christians in Galatia reminding them that they have been called to live in freedom. Paul says don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. The freedom we have in Christ, to live and to love, shows up in daily life: In the tone we choose. In the appology we offer. In the truth we speak gently. In the prayer we whisper. In the courage to name Jesus when it matters.

Jesus told His disciples it was to their advantage that He went away, for He would send them a Helper. That Helper, the Holy Spirit, does not make us impressive, He makes us faithful. Faithful to make Jesus look good as we love others. He fills our

actual lives with ressurection power so we can use our freedom to serve and love. After all, what's most important? "Faith expressing itself in love."

Heavenly Father, thank you for this reminder today. It is easy to loose perspective and think everything is about our script. Oh, may we love others the way You love us. May our faith be genuine in this way. May we choose well what we use our freedom for, or rather who we use our freedom for. I pray in Jesus name. AMEN AMEN
