Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints. Psalm 116:15
Yāqār in the sight of the Lord. Precious, valuable, esteemed... in the sight of the Lord.
God does not view the passing of His faithful people with indifference or lightness; their lives and deaths matter deeply to Him. Because God treasures His people, their transition or mortality is guarded, weighty, and closely watched over by Him.
God’s saints are those set apart for Him and bound to Him by faith. Their deaths do not defeat God’s purposes. The death of every believer remains under the Lord’s sovereign care. Because Christ conquered death, His people grieve with hope, awaiting resurrection and everlasting fellowship with Him.
Yāqār shows us the value we have to our Heavenly Father. Jesus said to His disciples "Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows."
We are precious, valuable, and esteemed. What comfort that should bring us when we have to say goodye to a loved one. Death didn't steal them away, our Heavenly Father ushered one of His presious ones into His presence. The pain and suffering of mortality swallowed up my immortality.
Heavenly Father thank you that your children are precious to You and our care in this life and the next is under Your sovereign control. We still grieve, but not as those who have no hope. Thank you for loving us with such special care. In Jesus name. AMEN AMEN
