For thus Lord Yahweh, the Holy one of Israel, has said, "in repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your might." Isaiah 30:15

What a beautiful verse. In repentance and rest.... you will be saved.

We repent of our sin and rest in the accomplished work of Christ. Thats the gospel.

In quietness and trust.... is your might! Quietness and trust might be interpreted as weakness rather than might. I think of the hymn written in 1697 titled "be still, my soul."

Be still, my soul! The Lord is on thy side

Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;

Leave to the God to order and provide;

In every change He faithful will remain.

Be still my soul! Thy God doth undertake

To guide the future as He has the past.

Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;

All now mysterious shall be bright at last.

Be still my soul! The waves and winds still know

His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.

In repentance and rest you will be saved, in quietness and trust is your might...

Heavenly Father help us to be quiet and trust in You today. To bear patiently the cross of grief or pain. Help us to leave to You to order and provide, for in every change You faithful will remain. Let nothing shake our hope and our confidence this day. I pray in Jesus name. AMEN AMEN.
