Then they cried out to Yahweh (the Lord) in their trouble; He saved them out of their distress.... Let them give thanks to Yahweh for His loving kindness, and His wondrous deeds to the sons of men! Psalm 107:13,15
Psalm 107 is such a wonderful record of God's faithfulness and His lovingkindness.
Multiple times throughout this Psalm people wandered away, chose to dwell in darkness rather than light, rebelled against the words of God. Some were caught on stormy seas and saw God's wondrous deeds first hand.
Multiple times in spite of poor choices we see "then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble: He saved them from their distress. Five different examples and five times it is recorded that Yahweh saved them from their distress when they cried out to Him. Each time they were told to give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness.
The Psalmist ends by saying "who is wise? Let him keep these things, and carefully consider the lovingkindness of Yahweh."
May we pause today and recall all of the times we wandered, chose poorly, and were in trouble. All the times in spite of our poor choices when we cried out to God, and in His lovingkindness He saved us out of our distress. For me it is more than I care to admit.
Heavenly Father I am so thankful that we can never exhaust Your lovingkindness. So thankful that Your ear is always open to our cry. May we be wise and take these things to heart. In Jesus name. AMEN AMEN
