Behold, as the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a servant-girl to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to Yahweh our God. Psalm 123:2

We do not have all of the answers in life. There are things we will never be able to answer in this life. When those times come I apply this verse. I simply look to the hand of my Master, my God. The one who rules the day. The one with whom lie all the answers to our questions.

Someone near to me is dying with pancreatic cancer. He loves Jesus and has for many years, yet as the dying of the flesh draws near he is cursing and very physical. He is not peacefully slipping away. This morning I asked God where the Holy Spirit, which was present throughout his life, is at in this moment. Couldn't He take over and let the last memories this man is creating with his family be gracious ones?

In my prayer time this morning the word practice was brought up. As in, we "practice" Christianity or Christ like behavior in our lives, and then in our last moments when our strength to reign over the old flesh is gone, the old flesh seemingly gets the last word.

Does it mean what we "practiced" wasn't really real? No. I believe what it gives is evidence to the fact that we are carrying about the old nature with us, up to our very last breath. We all know the battle we have with the flesh every day. One of the things I have realized as I start my down hill decent is the lack of strength to fight the good fight of faith.

I am thankful that the mortal gives way to immortality, and as the body will be raised new one day it will be completely rid of the old sinful nature. No more wrestling, no more battle. No more "practicing" because we will be the genuine article then. We will be like our Lord, in a glorified state. Bodies fit to live for eternity in the presence of God.

Heavenly Father I thank you that though we have questions we can't answer, we can always continue to look to You and rest in Your goodness. We live in a time of questions now but will one day live in a timeless place of answers, where nothing will be hidden or unknown. Thank You for the peace You give to Your children. As a Christian is not about having all the answers, it's about placing our hand in the hand of the One who does.

Thank you in Jesus name. AMEN AMEN.
