I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. Psalm 9:1

I've often thought, am I more apt to offer "Whole Heart" praise during the good times, or during the hardships of my life. What is entailed in whole heart worship?

Perhaps you've been guilty as I have, of giving half my attention to someone when they are talking to me. Oh I was hearing the words coming out of their mouth, but was I truly listening, was I all there? According to somebody very close to me, I may do this more than I realize.

Perhaps we do the same thing when it comes to worship. The whole heart means offering sincere, undivided devotion to God, rather than shallow or superficial worship. It's signifies praising with one's entire being-thoughts, emotions, and actions.

The phrase indicates 100% commitment, dedicating all of one's mind, body, and soul. To pray without allowing room for fear, worry, or distractions. It is a deliberate, conscious decision to praise rather than merely going through the motions or performing rote ritual.

It means praising even when in positions of despair, disappointment, or confusion. It implies letting go of personal agendas and submitting to God's will.

Perhaps a tell tale sign of whole hearted worship is what follows. "I will tell all Your marvelous works". Recollections of God's marvelous works flow naturally from "wholehearted" worship.

Lord help us today to praise you with whole hearts. Not to just give you what's left of our emotions, minds, and thoughts after the world has had its way with us for the day. But to be intentional to be 100% there in the moment. Help us with this I pray in Jesus name. Amen
