Blog post April 8, 2026

Mankind has just made history by traveling farther into outer space than we ever have before and communicating with the international space station while being 200,000 miles apart. Wow, thats good cell service!

I wonder if the astronauts have memorized Psalm 8 which says "when I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?

I've looked up into a clear night sky and recited those verses many times but to actually be in the middle of it all... I can't imagine the serenity and beauty.

I have sat on the beach just outside the reach of gentle ocean waves and recalling from Job 38 God the Creator saying to the waves "thus far you may come but no farther; here your proud waves must stop."

God who has set the limits for ocean waves is God who created the heavens. The moon and the stars, He has put in place. I encourage you today to read Psalm 8. If you're up to the challenge I encourage you to memorize it. It's a beautiful Psalm to pray back to God. To remind ourselves of who we are before such a mighty Creator and our role in His creation.

Oh Lord, our lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth! AMEN AMEN
