"A wise man wouldn't answer with such empty talk! You are nothing but a wind bag. Job 15:2
Have you ever poured your hear out to a friend only to get a non sympathetic harsh response in return?
Your sins are telling your mouth what to say. Your words are based on clever deception. vs 5
Wow! I guess Job's friend has the gift of "judgment." Do you know others who have that gift? It's not really a spiritual gift. In fact, one who dares to take the place of God will be severely chastised for it.
I appreciate the word of God because it presents things as they really are, sometimes brutally honest and raw.
Though trials and tribulations are part of this life, must we always act like we're Superman? Are we not allowed to in a very raw manner perhaps share with God and others our feelings?
May we learn from the not so good examples of Job's friends, how to be a friend to a friend in need. How it is we can pray for one another. How it is we can pray with one another. I encourage you to read the book of Job perhaps in a couple different translations. It's raw and it's real and it's relevant for life.
In the end I trust you will join Job in his moments of trial and testing and then in his praise. I encourage you today to touch base with a friend in need and be a friend indeed.
Heavenly father thank you for the rawness of the book of Job. Thank you that we can cry out to you. Thank you that you hear us and are patient with us and will answer us just as you did Job. Thank you for the lessons we can learn from the hardships in life. Thank you for the good friends you send to us. Help us Lord to be a good friend today. I pray in Jesus name amen.
