For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited. Jeremiah 17:6

We all have seasons in our life. Times of jubilance and great joy. Valleys of despair and seasons where we feel parched. Like we're in a desert where nothing grows, and all that is alive, seems like it is slowly withering away.

Throughout history God has set blessing and cursing before men. Which one you choose greatly affects how you will wether the dry seasons of life:

Cursed is the man who trust in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord.

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is in the Lord.

The one who departs from the Lord is like a shrub in the desert and shall not see good when it comes, but shall inhabit parched places in the wilderness....

The one whose hope is in the Lord shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but it's leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will it cease from yielding fruit.

So when the seasonal changes come, and they will, will your heart depart from the Lord or will you continue to trust in the Lord and hope in Him?

Heavenly Father I pray today for those who have departed from you and are in parched places. Their very souls are drying up. Lord please draw them back to You and help them to choose blessing and not cursing. For those who are about to enter a time of testing please help them keep their eyes on You. May their roots truly draw from eternal water that keeps them green. For those who have hope in You do not disappoint Lord. Bless them as You promise to do. In Jesus name AMEN.
