If you are wise and understand God's way, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. James 3:13

There is a song that has a lyric that says "if I could bottle this up, I could make a million."

Wisdom seems to be one of those things that If it one could bottle it up and sell it, surely one could get rich. But then wisdom says it isn't in the abundance of money that one is rich....

I asked Google, what is wisdom and where did it originate? I got:" wisdom is the ability to use knowledge and experience to make good judgments and decisions in life. It's a combination of understanding, insight, and the capacity to apply that understanding effectively. Wisdom is the combination of concepts wise and judgment.

What are "good judgments"? Are there good judgments apart from understanding God's ways and applying them in life? As with all things, God is the source.

In proverbs chapter 8 wisdom says "the Lord formed me from the beginning, before He created anything else. I was there when He established the heavens, when He drew the horizon on the oceans. I was there when He set the clouds above, when He established springs deep in the earth. I was there when He set the limits of the sea, so they could not spread beyond their boundaries. And when He marked off earths foundations, I was the architect at His side. I was His constant delight, rejoicing always in His presence. And how happy I was with the world He created;"

Wisdom says I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me. Proverbs 8:17

Heavenly Father, as with every good and perfect gift, wisdom comes from above. you are the source and the giver of it. Help us to seek You and wisdom, which are both revealed to us in Your word. Wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her. In Jesus Name AMEN.
