O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure. Isaiah 25:1

Heavenly Father I think the one phrase that sticks out to me in this life, one that I've heard over and over again, is "new and improved." Most of the time I think it's just re-labeled, repackaged, and sold as "new and improved."

The more things seem to change, the more they really stay the same. The prophet Jeremiah spoke to the inhabitants of Jerusalem telling them to "stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls." But they said, "we will not walk in it." That sounds familiar.

Father, I am reminded rest for our souls is not found in the "new and improved." It is found in the plans formed of old which are faithful and sure. The ancient paths where the good way is.

There is a reason the Bible continues to outsell all other reading material. It is not just the words of man put to paper, it is Your words, Your plans, Your paths, where we find the "good way." Where we truly find rest for our souls. For it is where we find Jesus.

Father, I thank you for Your plans, Your paths, and Your rest, where in we find for our souls. Thank you for Jesus, the Way, the Truth, the Life. Thank you that You've put within my heart a desire to search out the ancient paths, where the good way is. Help me Lord to stay true to your path. To not be tempted by the "new and improved." I pray in Jesus name. Amen
