And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest up upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

That the power of Christ may rest up upon me. Lord, what does it look like to have the power of Christ resting upon me?

I think I so often have the wrong view of the power of Christ. I think of power as a dominating force which imposes it's will over others.

Actually that's exactly what those who had long awaited for the Messiah were hoping Your power would look like. Yet Lord Jesus you showed us Your power through Your submission to suffering. Yet somehow when we have a physical thorn in the flesh like Paul was given we somehow think Your power upon us, will be the power that delivers us from it.

I think the power of Christ resting upon me means that I will have the power to suffer graciously should that be Your will for me. So my prayer for those who are suffering and asking You for deliverance or healing, is that You would give them Your power to suffer well. Help them rely upon Your strength in the time of their weakness.

The greek word used for grace in this verse means "divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in life." So Father I pray that Your divine influence would truly be refected in their lives today as Your grace is upon them. I pray in Jesus name. AMEN AMEN
