Here is a thought for the day.

In ancient Israel's temple, there were outer courts, inner courts and then the holy of holies. The closer you moved, the fewer were allowed in. Not as punishment, but as mercy. Sinful people do not stroll casually into blazing holiness. Distance was protection. So priests went further on behalf of the people. Blood was carried in and atonement was made.

Then the curtain tore, and everything changed. "It is finished" rang throughout the universe. Christ our High priest became the sacrifice. He carried His blood into the holy of holies and made complete atonement for our sin.

The same Holy God exists. He never changed....

And yet.... We can come before His blazing holiness....

Think about that today.

Don't take it for granted. This privilege came at a high cost.

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21
