Jesus replied, "All who love Me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and We will come and make our home with each of them." John 14:23

"My Fathers house has many rooms; if that were not so, would have I told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?" John 14:2

Just a thought for us to chew on today, but look at the difference in these verses.

Jesus is preparing a place for us to go, but God has come to us in the interim and made His home within us. God isn't visiting our life or inviting us to visit His. He is inhabiting it.

Home is where we can be ourselves. Have private conversations. Let our hair down so to speak. God could have said, "I'll wait for you in heaven" but He didn't. Instead He said "I am preparing your future home...and I'm making My home with you now."

What would change today if we believed God wasn't visiting our lives...but living in them?

The question that comes to mind is; is God an active, communicating resident who guides His people rather than a silent bystander, or when God takes up residency in a believer through the Holy Spirit, is He present, active, and involved?

Heavenly Father, admittedly we have difficulty grasping how this all fleshes out in our lives. There seems to be a disconnect between the knowledge of it and the experienced reality of it. The bible is viewed as Your written word, providing clear direction, truth, and principles for daily life. But is Your presence in our lives manifested only in the reading of Your word, or are we to experience inner promptings, a sense of peace, or gentle convictions that guide our choices? It seems You often uses wise counsel from other people, closed or opened doors, and daily events to steer Your people. Help us Father to silence the loud noise of daily routines and personal worries which can drown out Your quiet spiritual whisper. I pray in Jesus name. AMEN
