In Iowa we enjoy four seasons, and with every season there is beauty. In the spring the dormant soil comes to life and greenery flourishes as things wake up and begin to grow, bloom and blossom. The summer gives us beautiful sunrises and sunsets over our fields and landscapes as they reach their maturity. Fall brings a beauty of its own with beautiful colors as things begin to change and head towards the dormant season of winter. Winter is like no other season. Some dread it, some enjoy it, but none can deny the beauty of a freshly Snow covered landscape and winter scenes.

In my scripture reading this morning I find the most beautiful picture of all: "but God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. It is only by God's grace that you have been saved! For He raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:4-6

We were not only dormant, we were dead. Like a plant that didn't survive the winter. There was no green growth in the spring, no blossoms, no beauty. Just dead. "But God"... Loved us so much and His mercy is so great that He raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the Heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.

What a beautiful picture. What a beautiful scene. We are seated with Christ in the Heavenly realm. United with Him. Never to become dorment or die again. Everlasting blossoms. Imagine that! What splendor.

Jesus redeemed people. Restored relationships. Finished work that would never need repeating. And when it was complete, He sat down. Not from exhaustion. From accomplishment.

Heavenly Father As we live and walk by faith, we're stepping on terrain Jesus already walked. Our faith isn't a performance to impress You. It's our response. The path has already been cut. The King is already seated. We are walking on secured ground. What a beautiful picture we have this morning from these verses. AMEN AMEN
