For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lust, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself his own special people, zealous for good works. Titus 2:11-14

I memorized these verses as a young man. I had forgotten how special they were to me until we recently went through Titus in our Wednesday evening Bible study.

We truly have a blessed hope. So much hangs on the resurection and return of Jesus Christ. Christ is our everything. I can't imagine living without hope. It is those who have no hope that find suicide a viable option. With hope we can persevere. We can push through to the finish line knowing what lies ahead.

In light of our "hope" we are to deny ungodliness, and worldly lust. We are to live soberly and righteously, and godly in this present age.

I hope you find encouragement in these verses today. Meditate on them. Praise God who gave us His Son Jesus Christ, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people.

Praise be to You Almighty God, for giving us a blessed hope. Thank You for redeeming us and purifying us. What kindness. What love. What a sacrifice. Thank you in Jesus name. AMEN AMEN.
