"Don't be afraid! Elisha told him. For there are more on our side than on theirs!" 2 Kings 6:16

Then Elisha prayed,"O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!" The Lord opened the young man's eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire. 2 Kings 6:17

This is one of my favorite bible stories. I think because it brings to life that which the scriptures teach us. That God is in complete control. His ministering angels are sent forth to minister to those inheriting eternal life. That "our angels" always see the face of God. Matthew 18:10

By faith we can go through our day knowing that no matter how great our enemy forces may be, there are more on our side than on theirs.

Take comfort, greater is He who is within us than he who is in the world. Fear not I am with you, be not dismayed, I am the Lord your God.

Heavenly Father thank you for this reminder today. Some days we're more like Elisha's servant than Elisha. We see daunting physical circumstances and fail to remember we are in Your sovereign care. Thank you for the confidence we can have everyday. In Jesus name. AMEN
