But many testings still lay ahead, for the life that is to be exceptionally fruitful had to be rooted and grounded in God in no ordinary way...
"I know that He tries me only to increase my faith, and it is all in love. Well. if He is glorified, I am content." Hudson Taylor
Have you ever wondered what the purpose of faith is? Jesus said if you have genuine faith the size of a mustard seed you could say to this mountain move, and it would move. Ok, but is faith for moving mountains? Is faith to enable us to great extraordinary things in this life.
What is the most extra ordinary thing we can accomplish in this life? If you can answer that then you might be able to explain what the ultimate purpose of faith is.
Paul said "that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death," Philippians 3:10
What if the most extraordinary thing we can accomplish in this life is to get to know God and the power of His resurrection.
Intimacy with God. After all he who comes to Me, must believe that I AM, God said.
Perhaps then the purpose of faith is to establish an intimate relationship with God.
Testings of this life deepen our intimacy with God, can that really be? At the end of the day the test reveals He is our sufficiency. Without Him we can do nothing, but with Him we can do (endure) all things.
Help us Lord to find in You our all sufficiency. Oh to know you intimately and deeply. May we know You and the power of Your resurrection today. AMEN
