Mothers read to their unborn children to foster early bonding, promote language development, and create a soothing environment. Hearing their mother's voice helps build familiarity and trust, acts as a stress reliever, and establishes early literacy habits before birth.
One day I was visiting a friend in a facility and I could see on their face that they did not recognize me. This made me sad, yet when I began to talk with them the light came on. They recognized my voice and knew who I was instantly. What a relief and joy I felt.
I know my loved ones by their voices. My wife and children each have their own distinctive voice. I could recognize my parent's voices even if they were in a diffrent room. I did't need to see their faces.
Jesus said My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. John 10:27
How do the sheep know his voice? The same way we know loved ones voices. By spending so much time with them we just know. Could I explain to someone that did not know my mother what her voice sounded like so they could recognize her? No. Yet I knew her voice and could respond accordingly.
For those who do not know Jesus intimately I cannot describe His voice in such a way that they would know Him, but I do. Jesus wants us to recognize His voice and follow Him. Recognizing the voice of Jesus, like a sheep recognizing its shepherd, requires an intimate, trusting relationship built on spending time with Him through Scripture, prayer, and obedience. By learning His character and listening consistently, believers gain the ability to distinguish His quiet, reassuring voice from competing worldly voices.
Heavenly Father, Thank you for the Holy Spirit who helps us hear and prompts us to obey. We have not been left as orphans on this earth, You reside within us. I pray that You will help us to spend time with You so Your voice becomes so familiar to us thay we can recognize it among all the noise of this world. In Jesus name AMEN.

So very true.
