"Dear children, it is very hard to enter the kingdom of God. In fact, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God!" Mark 10:24-25

If something is very hard the implication is that there is a lot of effort needed to accomplish it. Hard, yet simple comes to mind. Some of the hardest things in this life may be the simplest, yet are things that are out of our control.

The more money one has the more things they seemingly can control.

That seems to be a timeless principle. 2000 years have gone by since the time of Christ and money still influences and is used to sway kings and kingdoms. Every kingdom that is, except the kingdom of God.

What makes the kingdom of God so hard to enter? We can't buy our way into it. We can't influence anybody to let us slip in through the gate. We must come as a child would come. Salvation is viewed as a work of God's grace, making it possible for those who trust in Him, and impossible for those who don't.

Leaders in powerful postions are used to moving people and things in their world around with a word. But the entrance into the kingdom of God is not opened with a command from man no matter his status here on earth.

This concept was beyond the disciples ability to understand. Come as a child...

"Let the children come to Me. Don't stop them! For the kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it."

Children can't influence people with money. They can't command others. They are truly the "least of these," and yet... and yet with God all things are possible.

Heavenly Father I pray today for childlike faith. Innocent, pure, belief. Trust that Jesus has done it all, and I simply must come to Him believing in Him. That's it. It isn't about what I have'nt done or even the wrong that I have done, it's about what You have done for me. In Jesus name AMEN
