Journal entry February 18, 2026

Then Jesus said, "come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let Me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. My yolk is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light." Matthew 11:28-30

Heavenly Father I'm thinking of what Jesus's words mean. What His rest looks like. What it is He wants to teach me...

I love how Jesus provides rest by lifting heavy unbearable loads of sin, guilt and legalism. How He invites me into a personal relationship with Him. I love how He wants to exchange my yolk for His partnership. How He wants to provide rest for my soul. I love how Jesus offers forgiveness and grace. And I really love how He wants to teach me to live in a rhythm of grace. To exchange the high pressure, frantic, rhythms of this world, and teach me to live in unforced rhythms of grace.

What a beautiful picture of a humble, gentle Savior offering what only He possesses. O to learn His gentle ways and to live in the rhythm of His grace.

Heavenly Father help me today to freely give over all that is weighing me down. All that I have allowed the devil to throw in my backpack. Help me today to learn the humble and gentle ways of my Savior. It is in His name I pray. Amen. Amen.
