Journal entry February 17, 2026

So He got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own city. Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, "Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you." Matthew 9:1-2

Your sins are forgiven you. Only God can forgive sins... Who does this "man" think he is?

Heavenly Father these seem like unlikely verses to strike ones souls, yet for some reason this morning they strike mine. These are another example that Jesus was not just a "man" but that He was the "God-Man."

I wonder if the ones carrying the paralytic just had faith that Jesus could heal, or if they had faith that Jesus was truly the Son of God?

Perhaps what settles deep within my soul this morning is the idea of all that Jesus is to me. He is more than my healer. He is my Savior, my God.

Jesus is all the world to me, my life, my joy, my all;

He is my strength from day today, without Him I would fall.

When I am sad to Him I go, no other one can cheer me so;

When I am sad He makes me glad, He's my friend.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. What comfort I find in whispering the name of my Savior. There is no other name under Heaven given among men that rivals the name of Jesus. Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven! Amazing. Though my sins were red like scarlet they have been washed as white as snow! Forgiven! I am free!

Arise. Take up your bed and go to your house. I can only imagine the joy that man felt as he was free from being paralyzed. But I don't have to imagine the joy that I feel from no longer being paralyzed....

Thank You Jesus for all You have done. Thank You Jesus for victories won. O Thank You, Lord: for Thy love and tender care, for Thy word and answered prayer; thank you, Jesus, for all You've done, thank you, Lord. AMEN AMEN.
