The age old debate is "does size matter"?

Texas covers 268,596 square miles. Texans often brag about the size of their state.

The classic joke about Texas that Alaskan's tell is that if Alaska splits in half, Texas will become the third-largest state.

In a matter of a few days you could drive across both Alaska and Texas.

Psalm 103:12 as far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us.

I have always been in awe that God uses east and west in this verse. There is no measurable distance between east and west, they are infinite. Every time the sun comes up in the east and sets in the west we should remind ourselves that it is just like our sins went down with the sun and were taken by God and His mercies are as new as the next sun rise in the morning. What a beautiful picture of God's total forgiveness. In this case size, or the scope of God's foregiveness matters.

But this morning I noticed something that I had overlooked before. Verse 11 says for as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him;

"As the heavens are above the earth"... This is something that is truly incalculable and unimaginable. No matter how far up a person could go, he can never outdistance God's love. Truly not height nor depth nor width, can separate us from the love of God.

So not only does God cast our sins away but His love reaches just as far. I guess it stands to reason if one thinks about it but I don't remember reading verse 11 in the same way I read verse 12 before. So Yes, size matters. The size of God's foregiveness and love, matter. :)

Just something for us to ponder today and to praise God for.

Heavenly Father every time we say amazing grace we are reminded of just how much more amazing it is. We will forever be singing that song of praise because we will always be given a new sense of it as we read Your scriptures and walk with You. So thank You again and help us to share that others today. It's too amazing to keep to ourselves. In Jesus name I pray. AMEN. AMEN.
