May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

The words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart..

God used King David to pen these words that we might consider what it is that makes our worship pleasing to God. He is addressing both public and private spheres here. Our public worship needs to be pleasing to God but that will only be the case if privately our hearts are in tune with God.

Again when he speaks of heart, he is speaking of the center of our whole being. It includes or will, our intelect, our emotions, our being as a whole. In other words God wants every aspect of our being to be in tune with Him. Then our corporate worship will be joined with others of like being and together we will bring forth beautiful priase unto our God.

Lord please forgive our half-hearted worship. For going through the motions when our minds, emotions and will may all be going in different directions. How out of tune our worship must seem to you. You desire perfect oneness, perfect unity of mind body and spirit. Truly may we each pray that the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts would be pleasing to You. In Jesus name. AMEN AMEN
