Whenever you enter someone's home, first say, 'May God's peace be on this house.' Luke 10:5

We think of peace as the absence of chaos. The opposite of noise and confusion. For years my wife and I did foster care. Caring for kids that came from fractured homes. Homes where chaos was a way of life, it was the norm.

Luke used the word eiréné which had the idea of tying everything together into a whole. It was the idea of God's wholeness. Prosperity, peace, quietness, and rest. All essential parts are joined together. God's gift of wholeness.

That would be a real blessing! Imagine a home where that was the norm rather than chaos. Where all fractured relationships were mended. Where all individual agendas were forsaken and complete oneness filled the house.

I like the idea of blessing someones home as you enter it. "May God's peace be upon this house." Intentionally asking God to bless this home with oneness, with rest, with quietness, with prosperity. To bring together all that may be divided or is headed that direction.

Imagine as God's people entering a home with that kind of intentionality, that kind of care, that kind of purpose.

Heavenly Father what a blessing. Oh how that is needed today in homes. Help us to be intentional as we enter peoples homes, to bless them with that blessing. In Jesus name. AMEN.
