Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again--rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Philippians 4:4-5

Have you ever woke up in the morning and you just lacked joy? You could tell you were in a grumpy mood and there was not one thing that you could put your finger on that was causing it. You just lacked joy and were irritable. That was me today.

And then I read Philippians 4:4. Have you ever tried to manufacture something that didn't really exist? You try to put on the game face but inside you could still tell you were grumpy?

As I got to my office the phone rings and someone shares an immediate prayer need with me, so when I got off the phone I dropped to my knees and 30 minutes later when I got up the dark mood that was upon me had lifted. What was the change?

Spending time in God's presence, asking Him for something that only He can do. Beseeching Him on behalf of others. A change in perspective... Sometimes it is not possible to maintain joy apart form the Lord. "In the Lord" is the secret. The joy of the Lord comes when He is our focus. When our eyes are turned from the realm of the impossible to the realm of "all things are possible."

Heavenly Father thank you for being the God of the impossible. The One we can run to in times of need and distress. The One who instills hope and changes our perspective. The One who is the "lifter" of our heads. Thank you for lifting the dark blanket from me this morning and placing the "joy of the Lord" in my heart. Thank you that there is no detail that You do not see. Father lift the heads of Your children today. Remove the dark blanket that may be upon some of them, I pray in Jesus name. AMEN.
