The value of wisdom from Proverbs chapter 2
My son, if you receive My words, and treasure My commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver, and search for her as hidden treasure; then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield for those who walk uprightly;
When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you,
What a beautiful proverb not only on the value of wisdom, but where it resides and how one obtains it. God tells us that it is in "My words" and "My commands." It is not in a casual pursuit that one finds silver or hidden treasure that lies deep beneath the surface. It is with intention and purpose as one uses the right means to extract it.
If we incline our ear and apply our heart, if we cry out and lift up our voice and ask. If we do so in such pursuit as we would for hidden treasure, then, we will understand and we will find... When wisdom enters our hearts and knowledge is pleasant to our soul, discretion will preserve us; understanding will keep us.
What wonderful promises.
Heavenly Father I pray today that we each will pursue You. That we will each cry out, and lift up our voices, asking for Your wisdom and understanding. You promise to give it if we do. Thank you in advance. In Jesus name. AMEN AMEN
