Journal entry for December 5, 2025

Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did. But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men, and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man. John 2:23-25

Heavenly Father I'm reminded of Jesus's conversation with His disciples saying blessing are those who believe though they have not seen... Many saw the signs in the miracles of Christ and therefore believed.

But Father that's not what strikes me in these verses today. I think there's a great lesson for us. Jesus didn't need the praise of men to know who He was and neither do we. So many times in life Father, I have decided how I would dressed, the way I would present myself, all based on what I thought people would think of me. I didn't do this or I didn't do that, because of the way it perhaps would be perceived by others. "He knew what was in man" means Christ knew man was fickle, and so should I.

John the Baptist came neither eating nor drinking with people and they said "he has a demon." The son of man came eating and drinking with people and they say "look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!" People are always going to have their opinions and be quick to judge.

Jesus knew who He was without any validation of man, and Jesus said I have been given the right to be called a child of God. I am the child of the Most High, the Great I Am, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the One who is and was and ever shall be. Lord it is what you think of me that matters. May I concentrate on pleasing you and not giving headspace to what man may think.

I remember many years ago going to a high school basketball game and the visiting team had only one cheerleader. She was what we would call a sturdy framed girl. Lord I remember whatching her cheer her heart out. I watched people from our crowd whisper to one another and make facial gestures and I remember being so proud of this girl I had never met. She had something that most of the people in that gym did not have and it was beaming from her. I have no doubt she probably knew who she was in Christ and the rest didn't matter to her.

Heavenly Father may I radiate who I am in you today for all to see. May I remember what You think of me is what really matters. Help me to be all that You say I am today. In Jesus name. AMEN AMEN
