Who can list the glorious miracles of the Lord? Who can ever praise Him enough? Psalm 106:2
Perhaps there is no more glorious miracle, than the miracle of adoption. The adoption made possible because while we were still sinners Christ died for us.
Father according to your scriptures, pardon, acceptance, and adoption, or all distinct privileges. While the first two properly belong to the sinners justification, the relationship is that of a Ruler and a Subject.
However when I consider the verse from 1 John 3:1 "Behold! What manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called sons of God." I see that adoption is not "Ruler and Subject" but "Father and Son."
As I read on in Psalm 106 I see the natural bent of man is to see your glorious miracles, experience Your wonderful love, and then to quickly fall away. How short are our memories. How weak is our love.
The glorious miracles of the Lord are found in verses like "nevertheless the Lord pitied them and heard their prayers and delivered them."
So today Heavenly Father as I reflect on all of the different scriptures that I've read this morning I see the overarching theme of Your love and attention to detail in our lives.
I began reading in the book of Acts and the account of You sending two angels to deliver Peter who was chained between two guards, destined for the death penalty the following day. I then read in the book of Matthew and the lesson you taught the disciples that it is not what goes into a man that defiles him, but it is what comes out of the mouth, because that proceeds from the heart.
I went on to read in the book of Romans where Paul encourages us to rejoice in Hope, be patient in tribulation and to be constant in prayer.
Father we can rejoice and hope and be patient in tribulation because of Your wonderful love, Your glorious miracles. We truly can never praise You enough. So I thank You today for the reminders from Your word and the encouragement to press on and praise You for Your wonderful works which I see everyday. Thank You in Jesus name. AMEN
