Many are they who say of me,"There is no help for him in God." But you, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the one who lifts up my head. Psalm 3:2-3
Heavenly Father verse 8 says salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon your people.
I'm thankful that this salvation is not just eternal salvation. The thought that in the end we know we will be saved out of the corruption of this world is great but I'm thankful that this salvation means deliverance. Here and now.
Father I look at the times in my life when You have been a shield to me. Times when you've saved me from my enemies and times when that enemy was my own poor choices. Times when there were spiritual forces working against me of which I did not know, but You knew, and You saved me from them.
David said I will not be afraid of 10,000's of people who have set themselves against me all around, for his salvation belonged to You. Father we are so blessed to have You as our shield, but also the One who lifts our heads. There are times when the struggles of this world cause our shoulders to slump, our heads to bow, our hearts to be discouraged.
I love how verse 3 starts... "But You." You are the One who has drawn a line in the sand and said to the proud waves of the sea, this far you can you come, but no further. You are the One who is a shield that stands between us and that which is coming against us, and You are the One who encourages our hearts, strengthens our feeble knees, and helps us see our deliverance comes from You.
David said I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me. I wrote in the margin of my Bible," such confidence." Thank you that we can have such confidence in You. Thank You in Jesus name. AMEN
