For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. Titus 2:11

This is "the whosoever will may come" part of universal grace or common grace. The common grace that sustains life, restrains the spread of evil, and draws people toward God without forcing them. We see God declared in the beauty of His nature, the love of family, rain for crops, and the general conscience that allows humans to distinguish between right and wrong. This is the unearned, benevolent favor of God showering blessings on both the just and the unjust.

This is not to be confused within individual grace. For salvation is the clearest expression of God's grace. No amount of effort, discipline, or good works could secure the forgiveness of sins or restore our relationship with God. Salvation comes to us entirely as a gift.

Jesus gave himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself his own special people, zealous for good works. Through Jesus's death and resurrection, Grace made away for humanity to be reconciled to God. Our past is forgiven, our future is secured, and we are welcomed into a new life with Him. Grace gives us a new identity as children of God.

Everyone benefits from God's common grace. Only those who respond to His drawing benefit from individual grace.

Heavenly Father thank you for the grace that brings salvation. Help us to live daily with gratitude for the gift of new life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Help us to be zealous for good works. Works for Jesus, since the work of salvation has already happened of which we are the beneficiaries. The wonderful grace of Jesus how shall our tongues describe it where shall our praise begin! AMEN AMEN
